Free Ad Supported Hosting With Godaddy

Equals No Monthly Fees for Hosting

How many well known web hosting sites do you know offer this sort of thing?

Since 2007, I have paid for webhosting. In between and prior to that, I had checked out various sites for free hosting, but not satisfied with any of them. The other sites that I had check out, in order to have free hosting, you could not have your own domain name. A sub-domain name of the website is the free offer for these sites.

The downfall of this is that search engines look at the domain part first. Even if you have a cool subname, this works best when it is on a social network. Many of these sites do not offer a free email account either.

Ask most entrepreneurs and they will say that you need your own domain name to succeed, it gives a more professional look to your business.

For a while, I had been paying month to month, not sure what to do with my websites. That is until I decided to try an ebook business, (ebooktreesaver.com). In exchange for a special deal that I had gotten for my business, I agreed to switch to a different hosting site than Godaddy.

Nothing wrong with the other webhosting site that I went to, it is a well-known reputable site. In fact, it is my second choice to this one that I am on now. The site I was on is HostGator. If you do decide to go with this site, I would suggest to go with the Baby Plan to start out with. At the time, HostGator offer a special deal for paying a year’s worth of hosting up front. Once my contract expired, they raised their prices. When I was there it became $9.99 a month, though I now see it has since went down in price. Even though on a monthly basis it does not seem like much money spent, but times that by 12 and running a business on a shoestring. I am sure you get the picture.

So, I went back to Godaddy and paid month by month. You can pay by the year too. However, I was not sure if I wanted to renew my domains. Then came the time to renew one of my domains and I called customer service. I told the friendly person on the other end that I was not sure if I wanted to renew my domain because I could not afford to pay for hosting.

Surprisingly he told me that I could have free ad supported hosting on Godaddy. This means a banner Ad is placed at the top of your domain. I decided to try it. I could always change my mind. This free hosting started in April of 2010. Check out a couple of my sites below and let me know what you think, by clicking on the links under the image of my ebook site. Then tell me if what you think of the banners on top from Godaddy.

Really, since you have ads on the sides of your site, noone would know that the ads were placed there by GoDaddy. I think your sites look wonderful.
