Common Mistakes That Cause Wrinkles

Why our skin gets wrinkled as we age?
Wrinkles, the worst nightmare of a woman. These wrinkles appear to every individual at some point or the other as a result of aging, dry skin etc. To get to the root of these wrinkles and diminish them we need to first understand the science behind it and then study the factors responsible for it.

Scientific reason behind wrinkles:
Elastin and collagen are the two basic proteins present in the underlying layer of the skin. These proteins are responsible for the firmness and elasticity of the skin. As we age, our skin begins to lose its elasticity and fibers. Thinning and degeneration of elastin starts which cause wrinkles. ‘Worry’, 'laugh' lines, sagging and creepy rippled skin appears near the jaw line and the eye area. With aging skin loses its collagen at a very fast rate each year and even faster if exposed to sunlight. This loss of collagen causes the skin to sag and droop down.
Gravity, along with the slackening of muscles and the loss of collagen together contribute to the wrinkling of skin.

Explain the factors which are responsible for aging?
Hormonal Changes:
Hormonal changes take place at various different stages of life. During these changes there is loss of collagen which is an important protein that makes up most of the skin’s supportive structure. As a result, wrinkles appear and skin becomes loose.

Air pollution:
Air pollutants restrict the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the skin and trigger free radical production. External factors like sunlight, cigarette, smoke and pollution cause them to increase to levels that your body is incapable to neutralize, and we cause wrinkles.

Sun Exposure:
The prime reason why the sunlight is so harmful to the skin is that, it triggers free radicals production in the skin. When produced in skin, these free radicals attack the skins collagen. As a result, the skin loses its resilience and develops wrinkles.

Smoking:
Smoking affects the flow of oxygen to the skin. It may also trigger the production of free radicals in the body. These free radicals in turn attack collagen of the skin making it lose and reducing its elasticity and resilience.
Facial expressions:
Also termed as wear and tear by doctors, this is also a factor of skin aging. These are expression lines that appear on the face when one smile’s or frown’s. Over time they leave a permanent stamp on your face due to constant mechanical challenge. They are pretty hard to avoid, yet can be diminished.

Common mistakes that cause wrinkles:
Here are some common mistakes people do, and ultimately land up with highly wrinkled skin.
Makeup mistakes:
Most Women try to hide wrinkles with the help of make-up. But if not applied in a proper way with the help of good products may lead to deep dense lines and wrinkles.

Diet and exercise mistakes:
A sedentary lifestyle also adds years to your skin and signs of premature aging on your face. Exercising is one of the best things to have a healthy skin. Working out improves blood flow and circulation, which gives skin a healthy glow. But most women tend to skip this.

Not Wearing Sunglasses:
Not wearing sunglasses leads to crow’s feet and forehead lines and wrinkles. This is the most common mistake made by 90% of women.

How to avoid this mistake?
Some Do’s and Don’ts to be followed religiously: There is nothing one can do to stop the aging process. Eventually everybody will have wrinkles and lines. However, the below mentioned steps may help to slow down this process:

• Using a Sun Block Regularly: The more the skin is exposed to the sun the faster it will age. So it is any day beneficial to protect your skin by applying sunscreen to reduce sunlight damage and consequent developing of wrinkles.

• Moisturizers: Even though these will not prevent the aging process, but will surely help to make tiny lines and creases less evident on your face.

•Avoid Smoking: Giving up smoking will help slow down the current aging rate of your skin.

• Sleep - At least 7 hours good quality sleep each day will help you enjoy better physical and mental health as well as protect the quality of skin.

Some Natural Ways to skin tightening:
Apply a banana face mask to tighten the skin: Simply mash a banana and mix it with olive oil.
Papaya Honey Mask for Removing Deep Wrinkles on Forehead: Mix mashed papaya with honey for making a hydrating skin care facial mask. Apply it on the forehead, face and neck. Let it set for 20 minutes on your face and then wash with Luke warm water.
Glycerin Egg White Mask for Wrinkle Removal: Blending 1 egg white and 2 tablespoons of glycerin. Add a little rose water and mix all ingredients to make a homemade facial. Apply this on your face and forehead lines and wash it after 30 minutes.
