Seekyt has been upgraded and updated with several new design features and elements to comply with modern website design practices for a professional edge.

In the upcoming week, there will be a few more minor changes, including updates to the ad layouts and a rewritten set of content guidelines.

At first I thought I had browser problems again and went to clear my cookies....:) I like the new look...it is very professional looking and I like the heading fonts. 5,000 writers that is impressive....

Wow! I love the new look, too! Professional, elegant, user friendly! Compliments! This change just made my day and encouraged me to make another 30 Days Challenge announcement very soon :)

P.S. It would be nice if you made the "Latest Articles" sub-headline a clickable link leading readers to a page listing a greater number of latest articles (just like the "All Posts" link on our profile pages)

Great idea!

Looks great to me. Always gets better here, and just when I have a big uptick in readers. This will make writers and readers more comfortable leaning back into great content.

Thanks for the continuous improvements, Tyler.

The new look is a definite improvement, more appealing to the eye as well as more user friendly. Keep up the good work you're on a roll.

greatttttt and good job admin..yet I think the header needs more tweaking with regards to the color..:the earlier one was nice )

I will probably keep it white with the small blue stripe for two reasons:

In the future I may layer subtle textures over the header. This might be something like subtle snowflakes on the first day of winter, etc. Kind of like Google's special logo designs on important dates.

Also, using the dark logo and font solves the problem of users linking back to us with our logo, and also IE6 users will no longer encounter the problem of the white font showing up below the blue header when they receive a Seekyt message - a major usability issue for a minority of users that I have ignored for too long.

My girlfriend was also partial to the blue header, and I generally trust her advice because she has perfect color vision (whereas I am 95% color blind), and because she is a successful artist. However, I feel that the light color lends more to the minimalistic principles of web design that I'm trying to comply with and achieve.

Thanks for your input!

Please don't tell me that a lot of visitors till use IE6...LOL =)

But yeah, that seasonal header change is also nice to see, as well as creating a slight increase in visitors who may just drop in to see the texture changes! Though you may want to implement it soon, as for me at least, the current header looks empty and blank.

One suggestion, maybe you could implement some sort of button, that can partially turn the font white, and the background black? Some contrast change in the page can help those with vision problems, or just have a too-bright screen. The following page can be an excellent example:

I like your idea, and it's definitely possible. The only thing is that I can't think of a way to do this and also make the AdSense ads change color to reflect the change.

It can definitely be done, though! I'll look into it in the future.

I am probably going to put something else in the header, such as a slogan that says, in a nutshell, what Seekyt.com is for readers who don't land on the homepage. I'm going to keep the color white for now, because the modern design principles of 2012 and the concept of minimalism suggest a clean and simple layout, and our current pallet is a little too bright and crazy for that.

Plus, a colored header is so 2009!

I love the new minimalistic look, its great.

I have a question Admin, do you think you will have a Categories Section?
Written by Sgolis, 97 days ago.
Carrerrcounselor, I think the category section would be helpful as many people may come to seekyt looking for one topic and then view the titles in categories and find that they are interested in another topic. I think it may very well keep our audience at seekyt a little longer.

I like the search box and I use it often...it is very helpful if you are searching for something specific...For me categories would be like icing on the cake.

Good idea, maybe it will help me find a topic I want to write about too!

Wow. one day it looks one way, the next day it looks completely different and the changes are great, Tyler! A lot easier to find stuff. Thanks for all the hard work that went into this upgrade and those to come!
